Michigan State Parks
The Port Austin area is home to two terrific state parks, each with its own unique character and features.
Port Crescent State Park
One of the best parks in the area offers sand beaches, camping, miles of hiking trails, a dark sky preserve, raptor viewing platform, pavilions and more!
Sleeper State Park
A wonderful modern, shady campground with a sandy beach, hiking trails, playground, pavilion, events, and a rentable pavilion with commercial kitchen.
Huron County Parks
Beaches, day use parks, campgrounds, and even a lighthouse await at Huron County parks.
Lighthouse County Park
A campground & day use on Lake Huron park offering RV camping, rustic cabins, and tent sites. Visit Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse, the only walkable lighthouse in the Thumb.
Oak Beach County Park
Located between Port Austin & Caseville, Oak Beach is a campground & day use park with a sandy beach on the Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron.
McGraw County Park
A small gem of a day use park. If you’re looking for a quiet spot with a sandy beach & great swimming, this may be the spot for you. Picnic tables & grills available.
Philp County Park
A small day use park with a sandy beach perfect for swimming & fishing. Picnic tables & grills are available.
Port Austin Village Parks
Beaches, outdoor activities, and learning opportunities await at Port Austin Village parks.
Bird Creek Park
Located downtown, Bird Creek Park offers a huge sandy beach, splash pad, beach volleyball, fishing platforms, full bathroom facilities, and more!
Waterfront Park
Waterfront Park is just 2 blocks from the Farmers Market and offers a sandy beach, access to walk the break wall, an outdoor fitness park, a playground, and more!
Gallup Park
Gallup Park is located at the west end of Port Austin and offers baseball fields, tennis & basketball courts, a large pavilion, and an ice rink in the winter. It also hosts Art in the Park.
Butterfly House & Garden
The Port Austin Butterfly house is a great place to learn about and interact with butterflies and poliinators. On the grounds you will also find public art & sculptures.
