Lighthouses
Huron County is home to three historic lighthouses that served as beacons for sailors navigating the waters of Lake Huron. The Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse is accessible via land at Lighthouse County Park, but the Port Austin Reef Light and Harbor Beach Lighthouse are both only accessible by watercraft. Port Austin Reef Light Association
The Port Austin Reef Light Association is a group of citizens who are passionate about maintaining, preserving, and restoring the Reef Light. They offer unique tours and events where visitors can learn the history of the lighthouse. Donate today to help with the efforts, or visit their kiosk at Pak’s Garage for information and to purchase souvenirs that will also help fund the Reef Light.

Port Austin Reef Light
Located about 2.5 miles offshore, the Reef Light is still operational to this day. It’s unique design stands out on Lake Huron and is open for tours from the Port Austin Reef Light Association
Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse
The still active Pointe aux Barques Lighthouse is among the ten oldest lighthouses in Michigan. The museum and gift shop are open to the public. The tower is open to climb on various dates.
Harbor Beach Lighthouse
The Nature Center's geography of sand ridges and shallow swales is a haven not only for native Michigan species, but for Michigan nature lovers. Enjoy a walk along one of the well kept trails of the Nature Center.
